By Night Anthology

As many of you may know by now, I have decided to complete a project I have contemplated since before I began this blog. I am converting several film posts from By Night and other written works into a published anthology! The anthology will feature an introduction by me, a selection of film posts from the blog, and two chapters that will be published in the book exclusively. The book will be published under this title: By Night: Observations on the Impact and Influence of Horror and Cult Films. My focus for this work is to discuss examples of horror and cult films that have a history of becoming game-changers, particularly in terms of sociological, cultural, and artistic conversations. Below, I share the complete list of films from the table of contents:

Nosferatu (1922)

Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

Cat People (1942)

The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945)

House on Haunted Hill (1959)

Psycho (1960) *

Carnival of Souls (1962)

The Masque of the Red Death (1964) *

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

A Clockwork Orange (1971)

House (1977)

Suspiria (1977)

Halloween (1978)

The True Terror of The Shining

An American Werewolf in London (1981)

Hairy on the Inside: Themes in The Company of Wolves (1984)

The Lost Boys (1987)

Death Becomes Her (1992)

Fight Club (1999)

Jennifer’s Body (2009)

Black Swan (2010)

Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)

The Babadook (2014)

Gothic Romance in Crimson Peak (2015)

The Love Witch (2016)

It (2017)

Hereditary (2018)

Midsommar (2019)

*Psycho and The Masque of the Red Death will only be available in the book

If all runs smoothly in light of my currently hectic life, By Night will be published on Amazon on October 25, 2022. It will be available in eBook and paperback formats. I am still working on the final edits and getting everything converted correctly, so it is not available for preorder at this time. If that changes, I will let you know!

Thank you all so much for your continued support. This blog started out two years ago as a writing excursion I wanted to try and an excuse to play around with spooky content, and I now have the means to publish my first book. Follow @bynight_blog on Instagram for updates. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at bynightblog@gmail.com .

Until next time,

Jordan
